Suppose a TV retails for $100 but is on sale for $80 this week.
When I buy this TV on sale (for 80), should the retailer calculate the tax based on 100 or on 80?

If you have a pointer to a government web site that has a clear answer, I’d appreciate it.

Luciana asked:

I graduated from college with a 2.8 GPA. I have taken several prerequisites since I graduated. If those grades are included in my GPA then my GPA should be at least a 3.1,if its computed that way. I want to apply to a couple of grad programs. So how will my GPA be computed?
But how will the GPA be calculated? Will they take an average of all grades? or will my GPA stay the same as when I graduate?

This is from numerical methods. The answer I thought I logically guessed was that if x is large, it won’t make a significant difference on f(x) whether it’s rationalized or not. What do you think?
