The time has come to get more info on Business Process Mapping.
Our company is asking all of us to learn more about process mapping to help improve our efficiency.
I’ve been learning about Process Mapping Definition over the past few weeks, and I think it can really help us here.
I’m not normally one for overly formalized processes, but we’ve gotten to the point where more organization is needed.

Certification/career advise - What should I do?

I completed a placement year last year as an I.T. Assistant working for a well known heating manufacturer. I learnt all the basics about server 2003/citrix/telephone support etc there. I also studied towards the MCDST, but never did the exam. Now, I am the sole I.T. Technician (16 hours a week) responsible for the networks at a Junior and Infant school. I support roughly 100 or so laptops/pc's/servers/printers including websites and one I am making at the moment as part of my dissertation. Also I am responsible for coordinating the design of new networks, as well as buying, meetings. What certificates do you recommend for me?

I’ve just started learning about
Lean Manufacturing Training. I think it could help our company if we could manage to make the necessary adjustments.
My research on Implementing Lean Manufacturing has shown that we’d have to make a lot of adjustments, but the results would be well worth it in the long run.
I’m hoping that increases in efficiency will help keep us viable through the difficult economic times to come.

When I decide to purchase or hire for my company I do a lot of research. Not only are my practices affected by what I buy for the company but perhaps even my clients or affiliates may be affected if I hire the wrong people. The same was true for my Astron Document Management company that we set up. I had done a lot of research and had set a team up to research the best company. Once we had our select few to choose from I made it a point to know their references to see if I could trust them with the people and companies I know personally.

It does not matter how large or small a company is. Or if they produce a product or service. What they all have in common is it takes a series of processes, working together, that in the end the public will find useful. This is where a good workflow diagram software can really come in handy. The reason being that it is very useful for any company to be able to break down these processes on a regular basis to make sure that all is going smoothly and to make the required changes to keep productivity at peak levels.

Technical View

Nothing bores me more than hearing someone talk about the technical components to a computer or a computer program. I have little to no idea how to operate a computer in the first place let alone understand how it works. Unfortunately recently I was tasked with the job of reporting back to the company on this new technical view of the Business Process software that we are currently using and how eventually it will be used to speak to other computers and how we can use the process more efficiently. I was pleasantly surprised by what I learned and I was rather excited to report back on the findings.

The statement, “you can’t get something for nothing” has always stayed with me ever since my father first told me so when I was growing up. So because of this I have always tried my hardest at any job or on any team that I was apart of. I also educate myself whenever possible because I also think that education is key to happiness. So I decided to go ahead for the sake of the company I work for get some more education on what I do for them. So I got certified from Prince 2. They are a great company that helped me get me my second raise, this just proves my theories.
