when people did the right thing, because it was the right thing.  Now it seems to have shifted to an attitude of, I’ll do the right thing until its inconvenient or only because I don’t want to go to jail or perhaps until I’m convinced I’ll get punished if I don’t.  That may seem like a small shift, but it is not.  Rather than seeking how then can act rightly, people seek how much they can get away with.  Especially looking at ethics in the workplace, we see a radical shift just when we count the number of major scandals that have exploded in only the last ten years.  Clearly, as we shift off of absolutes, we are shifting into a world of shaky moral ground.
